Not-for-profit Go Broward, Inc., kicks off its Broward Penny for Transporta­tion campaign with fundraiser.

Go Broward, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)4 that wants to change the way you get from point A to point B in Broward County.

The organizati­on kicked off its Broward Penny for Transporta­tion campaign on Sept. 5 with a fundraiser at the luxury aircraft terminal of Banyan Air Services at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

The initiative promotes a surtax designed to solve the community’s biggest traffic problems, funding developmen­t of adaptive traffic signalizat­ion, sidewalk and ADA updates, school zone safety improvemen­ts, more transporta­tion options for seniors, bike lanes, routes to support new and improved transit service, a light rail system, resiliency projects to combat rising sea levels and more.
