Working families will bear burden of Amendment 2

Amendment 2 provides assessment limits for the largest commercial and industrial properties in the state of Florida. Those properties typically include oceanfront hotels, mega-malls, high rise office buildings and waterfront mansions. The annual tax savings from assessment limits result in an $85 billion dollar reduction in assessed values for cities and counties which equates to more than $1.2 billion dollars each year.

Our state’s working families, small businesses and job creators who are least able to bear the burden of Amendment 2 will be forced to shoulder those costs. The owners of our state’s larges properties who are headquartered in Wall Street and around the world will not even say thank you. Do not get stuck holding the bag for them. Vote no on Amendment 2.
