Serving success to her team

Bethanie Holland, managing partner with the LongHorn Steakhouse in Davie, was recently presented with the company’s People Leader award, one of only six managing partners selected for the annual honor from the more than 500 LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants in North America.

Holland says the award validates her passion in embracing team work and customer service. The award program recognizes managing partners who have served as mentors; and help managers and team members grow within the company.

It’s the workplace culture she has benefited from in the past — Holland started as a server with the company. She worked as a bartender and trained team members, eventually working her way into management. Resume

Experience: Before LongHorn, I worked for a family-owned restaurant in New Hampshire.

Education: Associate’s degree as a paralegal from McIntosh College.

On the job

What I do: As managing partner, I work to ensure that our guests have an amazing dining experience. I also work to make certain that the team members are taken care of; and that we foster a great culture. This means being a fully staffed and properly trained restaurant.

Stay competitive: In this job, you can never rest on your laurels. Every day is a new challenge, and there’s no room for complacency. Forming a tight-knit culture and maintaining quality creates advantage.

Engage: The most important thing I can give someone is my time, and to help my team in whatever they need.

Personal professional goal: To someday become a director of operations for LongHorn Steakhouse.
