Hero dog:

A German shepherd is being hailed a hero after alerting a Long Neck, Del., family to propane stove gas leak. The News Journal reports that 5-year-old Greta, a rescue dog, barked to wake up her owner, Ken Walsh, in the middle of the night earlier this month. Walsh’s wife and 14-yearold son were also asleep.
