The 130-member Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida selected Dr. John McCarty as its assistant conductor. Formerly the director of music at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Miami, McCarty is currently an adjunct professor of music at Miami Dade College in Kendall and part-time lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Miami.

Anthony Brunson P.A. announced that

Izabela Tenenboim was named director of marketing at Plus Three. She is founder of pushke studio, and prior to that, Tenenboim worked at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Plus Three is a provider of marketing and fundraising technology tools primarily for small nonprofits, nonprofit advocacy, and political campaigns, in a variety of platforms from emails and mobile apps to event, content and member management, analytics and payments.
Horse Racing
The Stronach Group announced that
Mike Lakow has been appointed vice president of racing operations at Gulfstream Park. Most recently he was racing secretary for the New York Racing Association at Saratoga Race Course and for all meets at Aqueduct Racetrack. Lakow takes over the position formerly held by Bill
Badgett, who has accepted a position with the Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association.
Chamber
John Carr, a managing director of Venture Construction Group of Florida, was named chairman of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce for 2019-20.
Medical
was named interim chief executive officer of Holy Cross Hospital. He will work alongside Patrick Taylo, MD, MBA to transition the hospital until Taylor’s Oct. 30 departure. Strong is the former chief executive officer of the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers (now called Michigan Medicine).
Transportation
CSX announced the appointments of
Kevin Boone as executive vice president and chief financial officer and Jamie Boychuk as executive vice president of operations. Ed Harris, who previously led the operations function, will continue as executive vice president with a combination of operating and general executive responsibilities.
Supply chain company AIT Worldwide Logistics announced that Ryan Carter has been named vice president Americas operations. Carter has worked as director of operations: east region since joining the company in 2015, in Miami.
Culinary
Mastro’s Ocean Club announced Chi Chan as the restaurant’s executive chef. Most recently, Chef Chi was executive chef at Farmer’s Table in Boca Raton.
Recognition
The U.S Conference of Mayors and its Partner America Program announced that Miami Mayor Francis Suarez received the 2019 Partner America Small Business Advocate Award at a presentation held recently in Miami.
Stuart Grossman, co-founder of Miami-based Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen, was awarded the Florida Justice Association’s Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award, that recognizes individuals who have embodied exceptional legal achievement throughout their career and have shown dedication and service to their

David Neufeld, shareholder in Flaster Greenberg’s Boca Raton office, was named to the Joint Editorial Board of the Uniform Laws Commission for Trust & Estate Acts by the American Bar Association Section of Real Property Trust & Estate Law. This board is composed of 24 members across the country.

Boca Raton-based Bluegreen Vacations Corp. announced that Ahmad M.
Wardak, who has been with the company for 16 years, has been appointed executive vice president and chief marketing officer, and Susan Saturday is returning to the company’ newly created position of executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Wardak joined Bluegreen Vacations in 2003 and was most recently executive vice president of corporate development and innovation. Saturday initially joined the company in 1988. Later, she joined BBX Capital Corp. as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Also, other career moves at Bluegreen Vacations include Justin Taylor, who was recently promoted to executive vice president and chief people and technology officer; Kathy Foster, senior vice president of business development and innovation; and Ada Grzywna, senior vice president of resort operations.

Suarez has been appointed senior vice president of market rate development. Prior to joining Housing Trust Group, Suarez was senior vice president of the South Florida region for Lincoln Property Co.
