AT&T employees help first responders ‘Fill the Fridge’
A group of Broward County AT&T store employees recently delivered food to first responders of the Coral Springs fire and police departments in an effort to help keep their stomachs full as they continue to battle the coronavirus pandemic.
While holding “thank you” signs, the AT&T employees delivered four baskets of food filled with fruit, chips, snacks, cookies, juice and other treats. The Fill the Fridge employee project was started by South Florida AT&T employees who wanted to express their gratitude to local first responders.
“These have been challenging times for everyone but especially for first responders who are in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dan Delaflor, area retail sales manager for several Broward County AT&T stores. “The food baskets were a way for my team to show our local frontline heroes that we recognize the sacrifice they’re making and appreciate all they are doing.”
Along with the donations to Coral Springs first responders, AT&T recently partnered with the Miami Marlins Foundation to deliver 3,000 meals to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s three campuses as well as the Miami Veterans Administration Hospital. Miami AT&T store employees also banded together to provide hundreds of goody bags to hospitals in the area.
The company is also supporting physicians and nurses around the country by offering three months of free wireless service on the FirstNet network, a public safety communications platform.
