Luxury homebuyers seeking something out of the ordinary should take a look at a 13,000-square-foot estate in Miami Beach that boasts some features not typically found here in South Florida — like a two-story swimming pool.

The home, at 24 S. Hibiscus Drive, was built in 2003 and has six bedrooms and seven baths. Listed for $10.9 million, it’s situated on a half-acre point lot at the end of Hibiscus Island, a gated man-made island in Biscayne Bay between Miami and Miami Beach.

The gated two-story home has a Grecian-inspired design, with creamy white walls, domed ceilings, pops of blue and rooftop terraces that offer views of both the downtown skyline and Biscayne Bay.

“There’s no other structure in Miami Beach like this,” said Mirce Curkoski, a real estate agent with One Sotheby’s International Realty in Miami Beach, who holds the listing with colleague Albert Justo. “There are so many unique features to this house.”

That includes the two-story tired pool that’s accessible via a circular staircase with direct access to the water. Additional exterior features of the home include a pool house, boat house and roof sails to provide shade. The property has 150 linear feet of water frontage and a large dock.

It served as the backdrop of a music video for a Pharrell Williams song released in 2006.

“The whole house is surrounded by water, and it’s all connected to the pool,” said Curkoski. “The top part of the pool is shallow, and it overflows into the main pool, which is very large.”

The current owner of the property purchased it in April 2008 for $10.6 million, just $300,000 less than the current asking price.

“We were going to go on the market at a much higher price, but the sellers want to sell the property,” said Curkoski. “We call this the best deal in Miami Beach right now because the home is irreplaceable.”
