for her to get to the studio to push the process and be like, ‘I’m going to write about this.’ ”

The deeply personal album has only one collaboration, Fatboy Slim, on “Praising You” which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s dance/ mix show airplay chart — a rework of his 1998 hit, “Praise You.”

Ora released two other singles: “You Only Love Me” and “Don’t Think Twice.” Her husband deployed his directorial skills for the latter’s music video. Joining that trio of singles are the radiofriendly tune the infectious, four-on-the-floor “Unfeel It,” as well as her ballad title track.

“‘You & I’ is actually the song I wrote the day after I got married. And it was crazy because I was so hung over … my brain was like mush,” recalled Ora. “I basically wanted to write the ultimate love song … there’s a lot of references of classic love songs.”

There are also introspective records layered beneath the drums and synths. She dedicates “Shape of Me” to her mother, a breast cancer survivor, and reveals pursing therapy in the bouncy, self-reflective “Girl in the Mirror.”

“Your voice — like your soul, like your spirit — experiences things and it changes it … When I hear Rita sing, I can hear those experiences,” Felder said. “I think the pressure of having gone through everything that she’s gone through, the fact that this project was so important to her and so important to her career really, really, really informed how complex and how deep her vocals felt on the record.”

Ora is prepping a deluxe version of “You & I” loaded with star-studded features (that she’s keeping under wraps) and will continue judging duties on “The Voice: Australia.” She also appears in “Wonderwell,” the final film by actor Carrie Fisher, released last month.

But at this moment, she’s focused on her first creative love, hoping it’s a reflection of her endurance, during what she defines as her latest “era,” a perspective weaved into her self-empowering, “Look at Me Now.”

“When you get home and it’s quiet and you’re lying down in bed like everyone else, you ask yourself all these questions and self-doubts,” reflected Ora. “I wanted people to listen to that and think there is a light on the other side, if you just really kind of keep at it and not give up.”

Aries (March 21-April 19): You could get the sense that you’re feeling your way through the dark. It’s possible that a statement of yours won’t land well with your audience. There’s nothing wrong with taking ownership and apologizing for your ignorance. They’ll appreciate your willingness to grow.

Your friends may feel like you’re avoiding them at the moment. You may have recently spent a while on your own — it might be time to reach out to your friends and remind them that you haven’t cut them off out of the blue. A quick hello can make an incredible difference.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): Speak from the heart, not from the mind. You could be struggling with an authority figure. You are different people who have unique styles of communicating. It’s easy to dismiss someone’s way of life when you don’t know their story. Keep an open mind when puzzling things out.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): You might be avoiding learning something new. You could feel like you don’t need help or advice at this time, but you’re allowed to need a boost to get going. Trying to do it on your own may lead you to do things wrong or to take a lot more time than is necessary. Don’t shut yourself off from growth.

Your fears might distort what’s actually happening. Speaking onstage could feel like everyone is just waiting for you to finish. Auditioning for a part could feel like you gave the worst performance of anyone, when really you knocked it out of the park! Don’t create an enemy in your head.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Someone may be refusing to speak up. It’s possible that a peer is dancing around specific topics with you. Perhaps they feel hurt but don’t want to look weak. Whatever they’re keeping inside, they could be struggling to bring it to the surface. Give them the space to figure it out.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Someone who currently claims to be your friend might not be what they seem. They may feel enamored with you for myriad reasons. You should be aware of the people you’re sharing your life with. Make sure that those in your circle want the best for you, as you do for them.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): You may not be sure what to say today. Someone could bring you shocking information. It might be best to ask them directly what would make them feel most supported, because attempting to figure it out through trial and error won’t be fun. As long as they know you care, that’s what matters.

In 1918, poet Joyce Kilmer, a sergeant in the 165th U.S. Infantry Regiment, was killed during the Second Battle of the Marne in World War I. Kilmer is remembered for his poem “Trees.”

In 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a measure making “In God We Trust” the national motto, replacing “E Pluribus Unum.”

You might be torn between moving on and trying again. It could be almost easy to see a future where you go your separate ways from someone. While it will take hard work to repair the relationship, preserving a meaningful connection with a friend may be worth it.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): It’s hard to know if you should speak up now. You’re possibly not sure if you should clam up and keep the information to yourself, or if they would want to know so that they can promptly address the subject. This decision is difficult, and there’s probably no right answer.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Social risks may presently be uncertain. Set aside any shared interests and ask yourself why you haven’t fully approached them yet. While it might still feel tempting to try and form a bond, it’s probably not worth the gamble. Not everyone has to be your friend.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): A current choice between the easy way and the hard way isn’t as simple as it sounds. The easy way is potentially riskier or less aligned with your morals. Taking the simple path is enticing, but life might be more difficult later due to taking such shortcuts. Avoid punishing your future self.

In 1980, Israel’s Knesset passed a law reaffirming all of Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state.

In 2008, ex-Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic was extradited to The Hague to face genocide charges after nearly 13 years on the run. (He was sentenced by a U.N. court in 2019 to life imprisonment after being convicted of war crimes.)
