Michael Wayne Rauch
Michael Wayne Rauch, 71 passed away on January 31, 2024. He was born in Greenville, SC but was raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He attended the University of S. Florida, Tampa where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering/Physics in 1978 and went on to earn his Masters in Finance from Northeastern University, Boston in 1988. He was recruited as a contractor to the Department of Defense and assigned to projects in classified capacities for the Department of the Navy, Air Force Space Command and DARPA, contributing to the MARs exploratory mission Viking II/JPL, USS OHIO/Department of the Navy and the 30th and 45th Air Force Space Wings at the Canaveral/Patrick Florida and Vandenberg California air bases. He was co-inventor of a patent for an “Electron Charge Pump” used in improving the voltage bias spreads and operating speeds of large-scale circuits. After 19 years in technology, he left the government and private technology sector and for the remainder of his life endeavored as a real estate broker and investor joining as a managing partner from 19982007 with Rauch, Weaver, Norfleet, Kurtz & Co. and from 2008-2018 becoming a principal partner with
HRW Global Capital owning and operating investment grade commercial real estate located in Florida and North Carolina. He most recently was a Senior Managing Partner with Rauch, Robertson Commercial Realty Advisors since 2012. He was an accomplished martial artist having received his black belt accreditation in Hapkido in 1998. He enjoyed sporting clays with his wife and son, learning to pilot helicopters and had just recently moved to Georgia to enjoy his retirement and find his next adventure in life.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Socha, son Devin Rauch and daughter Kristen Rauch and siblings Randall Rauch, Lisa O’Laughlin and Amy Shorey.
