Former teacher accused of child molestatio­n faces more charges

A former teacher and camp counselor in Broward County was arrested Thursday for a second time as part of investigat­ions into the sexual assault of children.

Christophe­r Lawrence Falzone, 35, of Davie, is most recently accused of sexual battery upon 9-year-old girls at Renaissanc­e Charter School in Cooper City, where he worked as a third-grade teacher during the 2017-18 year. He has since been fired.

The alleged victims said Falzone would play videos in science class. The lights were turned off, and he picked an “assistant” to sit with him at the back of the class while the video played, according to a Broward Sheriff Office’s arrest report. Falzone

He would touch the girl inappropri­ately, then warn her not to say anything because he could get in trouble, the report says.

Falzone was arrested on suspicion of committing four counts of lascivious molestatio­n of a child under 12; six counts of sexual assault on a child under 12; and four counts of lewd and lascivious conduct.

Falzone was previously arrested Aug. 13 and faces a charge of lewd and lascivious molestatio­n involving a camper at Camp Live Oak in Fort Lauderdale. He had been freed on bond until he was taken into custody again.

He is being held in the main Broward County jail in Fort Lauderdale.

Falzone was removed from the the county’s substitute teacher list on Oct. 2, 2013. But state records show his current teaching license was issued in 2016, and remains in good standing.
