Cooper The Mi­ami Dol­phins have se­lected SAVE Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor Tony Lima as the re­cip­i­ent of the NFL His­panic Her­itage Lead­er­ship Award, at a re­cent Busi­ness Equal­ity Net­work lun­cheon spon­sored by SAVE and the Mi­ami Dol­phins. The award, in con­junc­tion with the NFL and the His­panic Her­itage Foun­da­tion, rec­og­nizes the con­tri­bu­tions of His­panic lead­ers in each NFL mar­ket. Thomas Oliv­eri, se­nior mar­ket ex­ec­u­tive of Broward County for The North­ern Trust Co., re­cently be­came the new board chair of the Me­mo­rial and Joe DiMag­gio Chil­dren’s Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tions. The board is com­posed pri­mar­ily of re­gional busi­ness lead­ers, physi­cians, and se­nior ex­ec­u­tives dedicated to rais­ing money to sup­port the mis­sion of the Me­mo­rial Health­care Sys­tem. For Oliv­eri, the op­por­tu­nity to serve on the board is not just good busi­ness, it’s about giv­ing back. He and his fam­ily mem­bers were born at Me­mo­rial Re­gional Hos­pi­tal. And when his old­est son was a newborn, Joe DiMag­gio Chil­dren’s Hos­pi­tal played a sig­nif­i­cant role in his care.

Why join: I’ve been on the foun­da­tion’s board of di­rec­tors for 10 years and it’s im­por­tant that we con­tinue to pro­vide the nec­es­sary sup­port to the hos­pi­tal’s mis­sion of pro­vid­ing high­qual­ity, com­pre­hen­sive pa­tient and fam­ily-cen­tered care for the com­mu­nity.

Tom Veen­stra has been ap­pointed vice pres­i­dent of ad­min­is­tra­tion at Ca­reerSource Palm Beach County, the non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion char­tered by the state of Florida to lead work­force development in Palm Beach County. In his new po­si­tion, Veen­stra will lead the op­er­a­tions of five departments — Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy, Per­for­mance Anal­y­sis, Le­gal Ser­vices, and Fa­cil­i­ties. He serves as the Chief Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Of­fi­cer for all or­ga­ni­za­tional is­sues/events and fed­eral/ state/lo­cal em­ploy­ment is­sues. He also over­sees state/lo­cal work­force plans and de­vel­op­ments in fed­eral/state laws and reg­u­la­tions that af­fect work­force agen­cies. Veen­stra pre­vi­ously was se­nior di­rec­tor of sup­port ser­vices. He joined the or­ga­ni­za­tion as its com­mu­ni­ca­tions di­rec­tor in 2011.

Real es­tate, prop­erty man­age­ment

One Thou­sand Mu­seum Res­i­dences by Zaha Ha­did Ar­chi­tects an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Ja­son Kaye as the prop­erty’s gen­eral man­ager in Mi­ami. Kaye’s ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in­cludes in 2011, when he joined Mar­quis As­so­ci­a­tion Man­age­ment as the di­rec­tor of op­er­a­tions, where he over­saw mul­ti­ple lux­ury con­do­mini­ums.

Kolter Homes, a divi­sion of The Kolter Group, an­nounced that Wayne Soo­jian has joined as its busi­ness unit man­ager for South Florida. Soo­jian will over­see the development and suc­cess of AL­TON, open and man­age Artistry Palm Beach and work with the Kolter Homes ex­ec­u­tive team to iden­tify fu­ture op­por­tu­ni­ties across South Florida.

The GPServ, Inc. an­nounced that Ye­se­nia Diaz-Adams was named as a sales rep­re­sen­ta­tive for Geo­graphic In­for­ma­tion Sys­tems Map­ping Sales for the South Florida re­gion. Diaz-Adams joined the com­pany in 2017 and spent most of the year es­tab­lish­ing her ter­ri­tory and cul­ti­vat­ing new busi­ness re­la­tion­ships in GPServ’s tar­geted in­dus­tries. Calav­eras Cantina has named An­gelo Ar­boleda ex­ec­u­tive chef, in Jupiter. Ar­boleda be­gan his ca­reer as a line cook at Cucina del’Arte, now Cucina Palm Beach. He worked at Café Boloud, Chez Jean-Pierre Bistro, and The Woods Jupiter.

Semi­nole Casino Co­conut Creek has named Earl Govenor as its new Ex­ec­u­tive Sous Chef and Paul Youngstrand as NYY Steak Chef. Prior to join­ing Semi­nole Casino Co­conut Creek, Govenor worked at a num­ber of Las Vegas-based prop­er­ties in­clud­ing the Mi­rage Casino, All Star Cafe, Sil­ver­ton Casino and Green Val­ley Ranch Re­sort Spa & Casino. Govenor was a ban­quet cook at the Mi­rage for four years, prior to be­com­ing the kitchen man­ager at All Star Cafe. At Sil­ver­ton Casino, Govenor was the ex­ec­u­tive room chef for 11 years. Youngstrand is re­spon­si­ble for the daily culi­nary op­er­a­tions of the prop­erty’s fine din­ing restau­rant, while over­see­ing a team of pro­fes­sion­als. He was chef at the prop­erty’s Fresh Har­vest restau­rant for two years be­fore mov­ing to NYY Steak. Prior to join­ing Semi­nole Casino Co­conut Creek, Youngstrand spent six years in Las Vegas where he worked for the Green Val­ley Ranch Re­sort Spa & Casino and Twin Creeks Steak­house in the Sil­ver­ton Casino.

Trez For­man Cap­i­tal Group, pri­vate com­mer­cial real es­tate lender, has added two new pro­fes­sion­als: Jeff Gersh joins as a se­nior vice pres­i­dent of fi­nance and Ben Gluck joined as an as­so­ciate in the credit risk and un­der­writ­ing depart­ment.

Broward Health has ap­pointed as its new chief in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer.
