Pamela Swensen Clinics Can Help
Pamela Swensen recently joined the board of directors of Clinics Can Help (CCH), an organization dedicated to bringing medical equipment and supplies to those in need. The nonprofit accepts gently used and new durable medical equipment from individuals and companies and makes it available to patients who may not otherwise be able to afford such expensive equipment for their physical recovery. Swensen is a professional golf industry executive, speaker, author and expert in women’s golf, and is principal of PS Let’s Talk Golf, which she founded in 2017 in West Palm Beach, to help clients cultivate partnerships and build relationships across diverse business sectors through the sport and business of golf.
On the board
Why: Swensen enjoys being able to leverage her broad network within the golf world, to assist companies, organizations and the community.
Build a foundation: For 15 years Swensen led Executive Women’s Golf Association, offering women greater exposure to the industry. Swensen’s golfing career has been focused on the goal of “rolling out the green carpet to women for broader business opportunities and revenue,” she says. And her focus on community outreach allows Swensen to utilize her passion for golf to benefit a variety of organizations through events such as networking, golf demonstrations, fundraising tournaments and more.
Be present: Success isn’t a solo endeavor. Reach out and embrace your team members, collaborate and be supportive. Seek out opportunities to showcase your talents and enthusiasm.
Wisdom: Golf is often the vehicle to foster connections and develop business relationships. People want to do business with people they know and trust. The integrity and ethics that golf exposes parallels real life.
Advice to young professionals: Don’t underestimate the power of having golf as a skill set on your resume. It’s a conversation starter and can be a game changer.
