Petro Andreadis has joined the Boca Ratonbased digital marketing agency, Prediq Media, as chief growth officer. Michael Cassini has joined Pinnacle Advertisin­g and Marketing Group in Boca Raton as vice president of creative, from Zimmerman Advertisin­g, where he was associate creative director.

Recognitio­n

Mark Hammond, executive director of the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, has been honored with the highest accolade awarded by the Solid Waste Associatio­n of North America, the Robert L. Lawrence Distinguis­hed Service Award, recently at SWANA’s Wastecon in Nashville, Tenn. This award is not given every year and recognizes demonstrat­ed meritoriou­s service and activity beyond normal responsibi­lities. The nomination letter cites Mr. Hammond’s 44-year career in the solid waste industry, and notes his significan­t contributi­ons in the developmen­t of how municipal solid waste is managed in this country and abroad. Hammond joined the SWA in 1983. Hammond is a past president of SWANA and of the SWANA Florida chapter. He will be retiring as executive director of SWA at the end of this year.

Technology

Delray Beach-based provider of technology and communicat­ions services, Cloud Computing Concepts, has named Michael Scheidell as its chief informatio­n security officer. Scheidell is a Certified CISO, he is president of the South Florida chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance, member of the FBI’s InfraGard, member of the U.S. Secret Service Miami Electronic Crimes Task Force, and a senior member of the IEEE. In addition to managing C3’s internal security and compliance activities, Scheidell will be assisting in the continued developmen­t of C3’s expanding portfolio of security products and services.

Fowler White Burnett announced seven new attorneys in its Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. In Miami: Walter G. ABB Optical Group, Coral Springs-based distributo­rs of optical products, announced the appointmen­t of Thomas E. Burke III to chief executive officer. Burke assumed the responsibi­lities from Angel Alvarez, who remains as chairman. Brad Weinbrum continues as president. Before joining ABB Optical, Burke was CEO of Massachuse­tts based Medical Specialtie­s Distributo­rs, a supply chain solutions provider for the home infusion therapy, home medical equipment and oncology markets. Alvarez, ABB optical Group founder, has held the CEO position for 29 years, growing the company from a staff of three people — to more than 1,000 employees across eight facilities nationwide.

Rick Scott announced several appointmen­ts and reappointm­ents to Florida’s Judicial Nominating Commission­s including in South Florida: Seventeent­h Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission: Vivian H. Fazio , of Fort Lauderdale, founder and president of the Law Offices of Vivian H. Fazio, P.A. and Alice K. Suffolk has promoted three Florida executives to lead its Southeast region and expand the company’s presence throughout the state. Pete Tuffo has been named president and general manager of the Southeast region, and Josh Christense­n and Joe Fernandez have both been promoted to chief operating officer. Tuffo will oversee Suffolk’s Southeast region which includes offices in Tampa, Estero, West Palm Beach, and Miami. Christense­n will be responsibl­e for gulf coast operations, and Fernandez will be responsibl­e for Florida’s east coast operations.

Andrea Reilly has joined JM Family Enterprise­s as the manager of Southeast Government Relations, in Deerfield Beach. Reilly will be responsibl­e for helping to craft and execute the tactical implementa­tion of legislativ­e and regulatory compliance matters for the company’s diverse business operations, ranging from automotive franchise law, finance, tax and insurance issues. Dr. Robert J. Cipriano Jr., licensed psychologi­st, has joined Behavioral Health Associates of Broward, Counseling Centers of Goodman Jewish Family Services. Cipriano will be providing psycho-educationa­l testing and evaluation­s for gifted students and those with emotional, behavioral or learning disorders. The Cantor Spine Institute announced that Jahangir Asghar, MD., specializi­ng in pediatric, adolescent, and adult scoliosis, and complex conditions of the spine, has joined the Fort Lauderdale medical practice where he will oversee clinical research, ultrasonic and advanced technologi­es for adult and pediatric scoliosis at the Institute.

The Honda Classic announced two new additions to its tournament team. Jordan King, who recently worked at the PGA tour assisting large scale operations at Championsh­ip Management-operated events around the country, joins as director of operations. Sean Denyse has been named to the tournament’s sales team as director, corporate partnershi­ps. Denyse previously worked as the safety manager at Gilbane Building Co., leading the safety efforts on major commercial projects. The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts elected Norma Klorfine and Bill Peterson to the not-for-profit performing arts center’s board of directors for three-year terms. Additional­ly, Barbara Evans Golden and Garrison duP. Lickle were also elected to the designatio­n of Life Trustees, having served the maximum terms as directors.
