A 21-year-old man is facing charges that include carjacking after a car chase through four cities, Miramar police said.

An officer saw Keivonne Q. Jordan, about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday driving a black Ford F-150 that was reported stolen in Delray Beach, according to the arrest report.

The pickup truck matched the description of a vehicle in an armed robbery that occurred about 30 minutes earlier at 201 N. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach police said.

When the Miramar officer started following the truck, it sped away and ran several red lights, the arrest report stated.

The chase went through Miami Gardens and back to Miramar where Jordan abandoned the pickup and forced a man out of a silver Acura before taking the car, investigators said.

Miami Gardens police, Broward Sheriff’s deputies, and a sheriff’s helicopter joined the pursuit until the Acura crashed in the 5200 block of Southwest 20th Street in West Park, police said.

The driver jumped a fence and ran into a residential neighborhood. A SWAT team found Jordan hiding in the garage of a house. He admitted to driving the pickup, but said someone else committed the armed robbery, investigators said.

At Jordan’s first appearance in court Friday, assistant state attorney Eric Linder pointed out Jordan was already facing two previous felony charges in unrelated cases when arrested in this case.

“The allegations speak for themselves,” Linder said. “I believe he put a lot of people in danger while driving, going up to a complete stranger while fleeing from law enforcement and carjacking this individual. I think the risk he poses is apparent.”

Jordan was ordered to remain in Broward’s jail without bond.
