Cre­ativ­ity pow­ers fundrais­ing dur­ing Red Shield Re­Design

Fur­ni­ture and home ac­ces­sories turned into new one-of-a-kind pieces for auc­tion through the Sal­va­tion Army of Broward County’s Red Shield Re­Design Bash pre­sented by Lor­raine Thomas at The Gal­le­ria at Fort Laud­erdale.

About 40 artists re­stored, re­designed, re­ha­bil­i­tated and re­pur­posed the pieces for the event, which raised $74,000.

The re-de­sign­ers came from a va­ri­ety of back­grounds, in­clud­ing Lee Dahlberg of fur­ni­ture, de­sign com­pany You Son of A Bench; Ro­man Fos­ter of South­ern Sands De­sign; Dana Duquesne of Yacht Dé­cor; Devin Chase of Jewel Toned In­te­ri­ors; and Na­dine Floyd of the Me­dia Lab.

Ac­tor Martin Amado em­ceed the night, and the guests chose Ro­man Fos­ter’s con­tri­bu­tion for the 2018 Peo­ple’s Choice Award.

Pro­ceeds will sup­port shel­ter, feed­ing and case man­age­ment pro­grams at the Sal­va­tion Army of Broward County.
