Mitchell Alan Tunkel

Mitchell said farewell on November 25, 2018, age 73. Mitch was born in Queens, New York, but grew up in Chicago, IL graduating at 16 from Mather High School. Mitch gained both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from UCONN. Raising his family in Nashua, NH, and retiring in Ft. Lauderdale after 17 years with Digital Equipment, Mitch became an entrepreneur investing in several hotels and dabbling in boat brokerage. Mitch was a talented Piano player and Musician playing the French horn in several orchestras and bands, including a few production shows on TV. Mitch’s favorite hobby was Captaining his boat and spent several years enjoying his yacht the ‘Inn Sanity” cruising and mingling with several boating groups and yacht clubs. Survived by daughters Elaine Tunkel (Mike) Littleton, Colorado, and Hannah Tunkel (August) Santa Cruz, California, and long-time domestic partner, Sue Murrell.
