CROS Ministries awarded for service
CROS Ministries board and staff members accept a $200,000 grant for Bank of America as part of the 2018 Neighborhood Builder award. Rev. Juanita Bryant Goode, Pamela Calzadilla and Sharon L'Herrou
Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builder awards program, which honors nonprofits working to create more sustainable communities, recognized CROS Ministries during a ceremony on Nov. 27.
The program has partnered with more than 1,000 nonprofits nationwide since 2004, providing $200,000 in flexible funding, leadership development and networking opportunities.
CROS Ministries has provided food and meals for the food insecure in South Florida since 1978 through services such as community food pantries, a hot meal program, a summer camp for children from low-income families, a weekend food program, and Gleaning, a food recovery program.
The grant funding will go toward the launch of a mobile food pantry in Palm Beach County in January.
