SunServe Youth Depart­ment, that was re­cently awarded a Broward County Hu­man Ser­vices Divi­sion Grant which fo­cuses on the needs of LGBTQI+ youth, an­nounced its re­cently ex­panded staff, in­clud­ing youth ther­a­pists Amanda Uliasz, Suzanne Peter­son and Ant­wan McKenzie-Plez,all of whom be­gan as in­terns in its men­tal health pro­gram, and Michael Alexan­der-Luz as lead youth ther­a­pist. Ad­di­tion­ally, Whit­ney Bour­siquot joins as the new life coach.


Nel­son Mullins Ri­ley & Scar­bor­ough LLP elected Jen­nifer Law­ton Mar­quina to the part­ner­ship. Law­ton Mar­quina is a for­mer as­so­ciate who joined the Firm in 2018 with the Broad and Cas­sel com­bi­na­tion and prac­tices in trans­ac­tional real es­tate.

Gov. Rick Scott an­nounced the fol­low­ing ap­pointees to fill va­can­cies in cir­cuit and county courts: In Mi­ami-Dade County: Alexan­der Bokor to the Eleventh Cir­cuit Court. Bokor, 40, of Mi­ami, is a Mi­amiDade County Court Judge. Car­los Guz­man is ap­pointed to the Eleventh Cir­cuit Court. Guz­man, 48, of Coral Gables, is a Mi­ami-Dade County Court Judge. Lody Jean is ap­pointed to the Mi­ami-Dade County Court. Jean, 4of Coral Gables, is pres­i­dent of the Law Of­fice of Lody Jean. In Broward: Natasha DeP­rimo to the Broward County Court. DeP­rimo, of Davie, is a se­nior at­tor­ney at the Florida Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion. Frank Ledee is ap­pointed to the Seven­teenth Cir­cuit Court. Ledee, of Hol­ly­wood, is an As­sis­tant State At­tor­ney for the Eleventh Cir­cuit State At­tor­ney’s Of­fice. Vegina Hawkins is ap­pointed to the Seven­teenth Cir­cuit Court. Hawkins, of West Park, is an As­sis­tant State At­tor­ney for the Seven­teenth Cir­cuit State At­tor­ney’s Of­fice. In Palm Beach County: Paige Hardy Gill­manto the Palm Beach County Court. Gill­man, of Palm Beach Gar­dens, is an at­tor­ney with the Law Of­fice of Hugh Be­han.


Michelle Boggs has been ap­pointed pres­i­dent of Nick­laus Chil­dren's Hospi­tal Foun­da­tion, the fundrais­ing arm of Nick­laus Chil­dren's Health Sys­tem. Boggs joined the health sys­tem in 2018 as ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor for Nick­laus Chil­dren's Hospi­tal Foun­da­tion, as­sum­ing re­spon­si­bil­ity for com­mu­nity re­la­tions, stew­ard­ship, an­nual giv­ing and donor re­la­tions.

Be­fore join­ing the foun­da­tion, Boggs worked for 12 years in var­i­ous lead­er­ship roles with the Amer­i­can Heart As­so­ci­a­tion, most re­cently, as na­tional mar­ket devel­op­ment di­rec­tor. Board-cer­ti­fied ra­di­a­tion on­col­o­gist Joseph Panoff, M.D., has joined Mi­ami Can­cer In­sti­tute, part of Bap­tist Health South Florida and Florida’s only mem­ber of the Memo­rial Sloan Ket­ter­ing Can­cer Al­liance. Prior to join­ing Mi­ami Can­cer In­sti­tute, Panoff worked first as a fac­ulty mem­ber at the Sylvester Can­cer Cen­ter/ Jack­son Memo­rial Hospi­tal, and then as a med­i­cal di­rec­tor of Ra­di­a­tion On­col­ogy at 21st Cen­tury On­col­ogy in Key West.

The Palm Beach County Leg­isla­tive Del­e­ga­tion elected a new Chair and Vice Chair: Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Matt Will­hite (DWelling­ton) was elected chair of the del­e­ga­tion, re­plac­ing the out­go­ing Chair, Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Bill Hager (R-Del­ray Beach). Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Rick Roth (R- Lox­a­hatchee) was also elected, as the Del­e­ga­tion’s Vice Chair.

Gov. Rick Scott an­nounced ap­point­ments to the Florida De­vel­op­men­tal Dis­abil­i­ties Coun­cil in­clud­ing: Yolanda Her­rera, of Hialeah, and a ther­a­peu­tic fos­ter par­ent for Pin­na­cle Fam­ily Ser­vices; and Frank Shalett, of Fort Laud­erdale, an ad­vo­cate for per­sons with dis­abil­i­ties, both ap­pointed for a term end­ing Septem­ber 30, 2022.

Palm Beach County Com­mis­sioner Steven L. Abrams was se­lected ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the South Florida Re­gional Trans­porta­tion Author­ity.

Florida At­lantic Univer­sity’s Col­lege of Busi­ness will host its 27th an­nual Busi­ness Leader of the Year break­fast Jan. 30, 2019 at the Boca Ra­ton Re­sort & Club, to rec­og­nize the ac­com­plish­ments of Fabi­ola Brum­ley, Bank of Amer­ica’s mar­ket pres­i­dent in Palm Beach County. In ad­di­tion to her mar­ket pres­i­dent role, Brum­ley is the South­east Re­gion Busi­ness Bank­ing ex­ec­u­tive for Bank of Amer­ica Mer­rill Lynch, re­spon­si­ble for a seven-state re­gion in the south­east­ern U.S. Busi­ness Bank­ing serv­ing small to mid-sized U.S. Brum­ley is a mem­ber of the ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee and past chair of the Busi­ness Devel­op­ment Board of Palm Beach County, and also holds po­si­tions on the ex­ec­u­tive board of the Eco­nomic Coun­cil of Palm Beach County, on the board of direc­tors of the United Way of Palm Beach County, and on the board and ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee of the Florida Bankers As­so­ci­a­tion.
