Be advised that Gerry died in hospital in Ft. Lauderdale on Tuesday evening, 01 Jan 2019, six weeks shy of her

68th birthday. She is survived by her husband Ricky Coats, son Alexandyr (Alex) Jezewski, mother Martina Freas Hill, brother George Hughan, and sister Jeanne Hughan Angus.

Alex has posted a collection of recent images of Gerry, Rick, and himself on his Facebook page.

Gerry was a Dade County native, living first in Hialeah, in Miami, and finally in Ft. Lauderdale. She was a graduate of Hialeah Senior High School (1969) and earned her living as a full-charge bookkeeper. She took in and loved many pets. Not least, Gerry was a dedicated political and social liberal.

In her memory, the family encourage contributions be made to Gold Coast Home Health & Hospice, c/o Broward Health (goldcoasthealth.browardhealth.org) or other charities.

Per Gerry’s request, her body has been cremated, and her ashes will be scattered at sea.
