Free tickets, beer and hotel deals

South Florida Sun-Sentinel (Sunday) - - Money - Doreen Christensen

Winter is a great time to visit Florida theme parks when the weather is cool and crisp.

There are some sweet free ticket deals and hotel offers to be had at Busch Gardens, Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld and other popular resorts. Most also are offering savings just for Florida residents. We usually have to wait until steamy October to save.

Year of Beer in Tampa

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is celebrating its 60th anniversary by giving away free beer this year. Stop in for two free

7-ounce sips at the Garden Gate Cafe or the Serengeti Overlook Pub. The promo honors the park’s roots when then-owner Anheuser-Busch started serving its products at the Hospitality House in 1959.

You may need something to steady your nerves after riding Tigris, soon to be the state’s tallest launch roller coaster. The thrilling new ride, set to open in the spring, makes a

150-foot skyward surge, rolling and twirling along 1,800 feet of track at brisk 60 miles an hour. Sounds fun.
