Here's what will be open and closed in Broward, Palm Beach and Mi­ami-Dade coun­ties, in ob­ser­vance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Mon­day.

South Florida:

■ Most banks will be closed. Post of­fices will be closed; there will be no reg­u­lar mail de­liv­ery. Mar­kets: NYSE, Nas­daq and Bond Mar­kets will be closed.

■ Most fed­eral, state, county court, gov­ern­men­tal and mu­nic­i­pal of­fices will be closed.

■ Tri-Rail will operate a reg­u­lar sched­ule. To find train sched­ules, call Tri-Rail cus­tomer ser­vice at

Broward County

Gov­ern­ment/Schools

■ Pub­lic schools, and most col­leges and uni­ver­si­ties will be closed.

■ County gov­ern­men­tal of­fices will be closed.

■ The Cir­cuit and County courts and the Ad­min­is­tra­tive Of­fice of the Courts will be closed.

Ser­vices

■ Broward County An­i­mal Care and Adop­tion Cen­ter will be closed. In the event of an­i­mal at­tack or bite, call 911. For lost or found cats or dogs, call

■ The Broward County Land­fill at 7101 SW 205th Ave., Fort Laud­erdale, will be closed.

■ There will be pickup of garbage, bulk and re­cy­cling, as reg­u­larly sched­uled. Sched­ules in each city may vary; con­tact your city to find out the sched­ule.

■ All of­fices and pro­grams at the Florida De­part­ment of Health will be closed.

En­ter­tain­ment

■ The county li­brary sys­tem will be closed.

■ Broward County re­gional and neigh­bor­hood parks, na­ture cen­ters and nat­u­ral ar­eas will be open, with the ex­cep­tion of Deer­field Is­land Park, which will be closed per nor­mal oper­at­ing sched­ule.

Trans­porta­tion
