Dave Matthews Band coming back to West Palm Beach

- By Ben Crandell

A rite of summer for South Florida music fans, the annual two-night residency by the Dave Matthews Band at Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach will be July 26-27 this year.

The back-to-back concerts are part of DMB’s 2019 North American tour that kicks off April 30 in Pensacola. The band will play Jacksonville the next night before hitting the rest of the continent, eventually circling back to Florida for a show in Tampa on July 24 and the West Palm Beach concerts.

South Florida is one of six stops on the 34-city tour to get multiple concerts.

Tickets for the North American dates go on sale Feb. 22, but a presale for Dave Matthews fans is under way at Warehouse.DaveMatthewsBand.com, running through 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. Citi card members will have access to presale tickets Feb. 19-21.

The fan-club presale includes general tickets, premium packages, and opportunities for general-admission pit upgrades and meet-and-greet sessions.

Each ticket purchase includes access to a download of an unreleased live recording from DMB’s 2018 tour. Visit Redeem.DaveMatthewsBand.com for more information.

Matthews and band will warm up for summer with a month-long European tour beginning March 6 in Munich, Germany. The band just concluded its 2018 tour in December, punctuated by a free show on Miami Beach during the Orange Bowl Beach Bash. Those concerts supported the 2018 album “Come Tomorrow,” which made DMB the first group to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The New York Times captured the essence of the album, saying "willed optimism fills the songs on 'Come Tomorrow,' while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot."
