Israel Neiman
Israel Neiman was born on August 16, 1918 and passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019. A Polish citizen and the eldest of six siblings, Israel fled to Russia to avoid Nazi persecution. He and his wife Sonia spent 4 years in a Siberian labor camp before embarking upon an 18-month journey to a displaced persons camp in Ulm, Germany.
Mr. Neiman arrived in Boston in July 1949, where he established a business with his brothers, Industrial Engineering Machines, and raised a family. In 1980, he and Sonia relocated to Boca Raton, Florida. Israel shaped five generations of offspring, and supported countless lives through his generosity of spirit and resources. He dedicated his life to strengthening Jewish communities wherever he went.
Israel Neiman is survived by his beloved wife of 79 years, Sonia. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Debbie Steiner. Israel also is survived by his devoted children Hannah and Stanley Scheff, Joseph and Rosalie Neiman, and son-in-law Lou Steiner; loving grandchildren Cheri (and David), Wendy, Craig (and Nancy), Randi (and Avi), Stephen (and Francie), Bryan (and Yamit), Alon (and Michelle), Julie (and Steve), Laurie (and Bruce); blessed great-grandchildren Brandon (and Jennie), Jessica, Shalhevet (and Iftach), Maydan (and Jannika), Kellie (and Gonen), Matthew, Scott, Jason, Jared, Elad, Yuval, Madison, Sydney, Joey, Dylan, Max, Arianna, Justin, Oriah, Ayla, Abigail, Dorie, Alex, Emily, Samantha, and Lily; great-greatgrandchildren Haley, Mikey, Jamie and Mia; brothers Noah and Philip; and numerous nieces and nephews. A chapel service will be held on Sunday, January 27 at 1:45pm at Beth Israel memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, Florida. Interment will follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, State Road 7, Boynton Beach, Florida. Donations in Israel’s memory may be made to Hadassah or to Orangetown Jewish Center, 8 Independence Avenue, Orangeburg, New York 10962.
