Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business hosted its 27th annual Business Leader of the Year breakfast recently at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, to celebrate the accomplishments of Fabiola Brumley, Bank of America’s market president in Palm Beach County.
In advance of its 27th annual AfricanAmerican Achievers awards ceremony, JM Family Enterprises, Southeast Toyota Distributors and JM Lexus recently held a private reception to announce the 2019 African-American Achievers. They are: Arts & Culture: Addonis Parker — MiamiDade County — painter and muralist; Business & Entrepreneurism: James Thomas — Palm Beach County — entrepreneur and radio personality and program director for 99 JAMZ. Community Service: Jasmin D. Shirley — Broward County — senior vice president of community health services at Broward Health; Education: Webber J. Charles — Miami-Dade County — director of student achievement at Breakthrough Miami. A formal presentation will be made to the honorees at 6:30 p.m. April 24 at the Broward County Convention Center.
Tony Argiz, chief executive officer and chairman of MBAF, is being honored with the Hope Promise Dream Award at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Hope Promise Dream Gala, which will be on May 18 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
