Lo­cated in West Palm Beach, Vita Nova as­sists young adults ages 18-25 with hous­ing, coun­sel­ing, and ed­u­ca­tion through its four com­po­nents: Vita Nova Life Coaches; the Spot; Vita Nova Vil­lage; and Vita Nova Thrift Store.

Hy Mon­tero, in­terim pres­i­dent of the Light of the World Clinic in Oak­land Park, and founder and pres­i­dent of Mon­tero Law Cen­ter, has an­nounced that Kim Valentin, hos­pice pro­fes­sional with Trust­bridge, and Kim Saiswick, vice pres­i­dent of com­mu­nity health and well-be­ing at Holy Cross Hospi­tal, have been elected to the clinic’s board of di­rec­tors. Since 1989, The Light of the World Clinic, a pri­vate 501c3 or­ga­ni­za­tion, has pro­vided health­care to the unin­sured and dis­ad­van­taged res­i­dents of Broward County, through its vol­un­teer doc­tors, spe­cial­ists and non-med­i­cal pro­fes­sion­als.

The Travel In­sider pro­gram is achieved by a small per­cent­age of agents, and in­creases the agen­cies in­sider knowl­edge to the des­ti­na­tions. Broward Col­lege an­nounced that Dr. Avis Proc­tor, pres­i­dent of the Col­lege’s North Cam­pus in Co­conut Creek, has been se­lected as pres­i­dent of Wil­liam Rainey Harper Col­lege in Pala­tine, Illi­nois.

Ann Brown, Salta­bil­ity founder and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, has been se­lected to join the Chris­tine E. Lynn Col­lege of Nurs­ing Ad­vi­sory Board at Florida At­lantic Univer­sity.

Palm Beach State Col­lege As­so­ciate Pro­fes­sor Anurag Katyal is among six in the na­tion se­lected to par­tic­i­pate as a fel­low in a Schol­ar­ship of Teach­ing and Learn­ing (SoTL) ini­tia­tive be­ing pi­loted by the Amer­i­can Math­e­mat­i­cal As­so­ci­a­tion of Two-Year Col­leges. The AMATYC re­ceived a $305,100 grant from the Na­tional Science Foun­da­tion to launch Project SLOPE, a pro­gram that sup­ports fel­lows as they con­duct a SoTL project that is mo­ti­vated by their teach­ing ex­pe­ri­ences. The group will par­tic­i­pate in hy­brid fac­ulty learn­ing to sup­port one an­other both on­line and in per­son and at­tend a Project SLOPE work­shop this sum­mer and AMATYC na­tional con­fer­ences this year and next year. They also will share the out­comes of their re­search in 2020 with the AMATYC com­mu­nity. The ini­tia­tive is col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween AMATYC, AnokaRam­sey Com­mu­nity Col­lege, Florida In­ter­na­tional Univer­sity and Port­land State Univer­sity. Katyal, be­gan teach­ing at PBSC as an ad­junct pro­fes­sor in 2010.
