David Clark has been promoted to senior vice president of operations at Broward Health. Clark joined Broward Health in April
2018 as assistant vice president of corporate services.
Surgeon Horacio Asbun has joined Miami Cancer Institute as chief of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery for Miami Cancer Institute and throughout Baptist Health.
Martin A. Dytrych is the new chairman of the Jupiter Medical Center board of trustees, returning to a leadership role that he held two years ago. He has been a member of the hospital’s corporate board since
2010, and joined the board of trustees in
2012, and as chairman from 2015 to 2017. He replaces Robert J. Stilley, president and CEO of HeartCare Imaging Inc., who remains on the board as vice chairman. Dytrych is a principal with financial services firm Rehmann that recently merged with Jupiter-based Lamn, Krielow, Dytrych & Co.
Joseph Nader, managing director and senior wealth adviser for Calamos Wealth Management LLC, has been elected vice chair of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital board of directors, which provides oversight to the 309-bed private, nonprofit specialty hospital in Miami. Nader has served in board leadership roles since 2012, including chairing the hospital’s finance and investment committees, responsible for all endowment, insurance and pension plan assets.
Barak Mizrahi has joined Delray Beach-based Daniel Events as creative director and events specialist. Most recently, Mizrahi worked as a makeup artist at the Tel Aviv International School of Makeup.
The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau announced that Michael Pouey has joined the organization’s sales team as vice president of group sales. He most recently led the sales and event team at the 589-room Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina since 2013. Also, Fred Trimble joined the convention sales team as regional sales executive, based in Washington, D.C.
Margaret Donnelley will be recognized for her 50 years as a volunteer and advocate for mental health causes by the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County at its spring luncheon on March 20 at the Cohen Pavilion at The Kravis Center for Performing Arts.
Ten Broward County community volunteers, age 60 and older, were recognized as inductees into the Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame. They include: Barbara Arnold, Hollywood; Beauregard Cummings, Fort Lauderdale; Gail Gannotta, Pompano Beach; Ruby Hutson, Lauderdale Lakes; Jean Merget, Fort Lauderdale; Art Schmall, Margate; Florie Scott, Lauderdale Lakes; Carl Shechter, Pembroke Pines; Harold Smith, Davie; and Aline Zucker, Cooper City. The electees will be honored at the 36th annual Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame Breakfast, which will take place during Older Americans Month, on May 10 at the Renaissance Hotel in Plantation.
Ethel Isaacs Williams, senior vice president of development and public affairs at Delray Beach-based Kaufman Lynn Construction, received the 2019 DIAMOND Award from the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. The DIAMOND Award recognizes a professional woman in south Palm Beach County who contributes to the vibrancy of the community. The award was given during a ceremony at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
Diana Brooks, co-founder of the Coral Gables-based VS/Brooks, a branding and communications firm, was recognized as Marketer of the Year at the American Marketing Association’s South Florida second annual Marketing Awards presentation. The agency, founded in 1996 by Brooks and Vivian Santos, also received a variety of accolades for brand launches and marketing campaigns as Agency of the Year, Gold Award and Global Campaign of the Year, Bronze Award.
Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle was selected by the Junior League of Miami as one of their 2018 Women Who Make a Difference. The award recognizes outstanding women who exemplify the League’s mission of promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities, at the League’s 18th annual Women Who Make A Difference Luncheon at Jungle Island in Miami.
Rabbi Rikki Arad, executive director at B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton, was honored as a Fellow in Synagogue Administration, by The North American Association of Synagogue Executives, NAASE, at its annual conference in West Palm Beach. Three other active Synagogue executive directors in the state have done the work required to accomplish this, but Arad is the only one to reside in South Florida, and the only executive director nationwide, being presented with an FSA this year.
Frank Gonzalez was elected as second vice chair of the Orange Bowl Committee at the organization’s annual elections in February. Gonzalez is the managing principal for the Miami office of MBAF, Certified Public Accountants.

Insurance Office of America announced that Nick DiBattisto joined its West Palm Beach office as a risk management specialist.
Gunster announced that Jonathan Kent Osborne has re-joined the firm as a shareholder in the business litigation group. Osborne began his legal career at Gunster before spending more than four years as a federal prosecutor. Also, Gregory K. Bader, chair of Gunster’s banking & financial services practice, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Association for Corporate Growth South Florida chapter.
Berger Singerman announced that Christopher Andrew Jarvinen has returned as a partner on the business reorganization team, and Robin Rubens, has joined the firm as a partner on the business reorganization team and the dispute resolution team in Miami. Additionally, Geoffrey Lottenberg has joined the firm as a partner on the Dispute Resolution Team, based in Fort Lauderdale.
