Deputies find wan­der­ing tod­dler’s mother

Palm Beach County deputies have found the mother of a lit­tle girl who was wan­der­ing alone in a park near West Palm Beach, the Sher­iff ’s Of­fice said.

Deputies had re­sponded to Haver­hill Park at 5470 Belvedere Road af­ter they re­ceived re­ports of an un­ac­com­pa­nied tod­dler in­side the park just be­fore 8 p.m. on Fri­day.

The girl, who ap­peared to be about 2, was wear­ing a pink short­sleeve shirt, white and gold tutu, and clear plas­tic shoes, the sher­iff’s of­fice said. Nu­mer­ous deputies can­vassed the area, loud an­nounce­ments were made and a re­verse 911 call was ini­ti­ated. They an­nounced at 4:43 p.m. Sat­ur­day that her mother had been found.

The state Depart­ment of Chil­dren and Fam­i­lies had been no­ti­fied and was car­ing for the girl.
