Investigators try to ID victim who survived near drowning
The near-drowning happened more than a week ago at the Lake Worth Pier, and investigators are still trying to figure out who the young survivor is, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
Investigators are asking the public for help identifying the victim who nearly drowned on Nov. 12. He is estimated to be between 15 and 20 years old, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
The “victim is still alive,” Teri Barbera, the spokeswoman, said. She did not reveal where he is, who’s taking care of him or the status of his condition.

Along with an image of the youth, detectives released his description.
He is black, his hair and eyes are brown, and he is about 5-foot, 10-inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. Both of his ears are pierced, he has an 8-inch scar on the front of his right shoulder and a small mole on the right side of his forehead.
