Cultural
Old School Square, the cultural center in downtown Delray Beach, has announced that the board of directors has elected Shannon Eadon as the new president and chief executive officer. Previously, Eadon led the Bergen Performing Arts Center, a not-for-profit theater in Englewood, New Jersey, as the director of development.
Broward County Library Director Kelvin Watson received the Friends of the African American Research Library and Cultural Center’s 2019 Community Service & Distinguished Achievement Award, at the Friends of AARLCC’s 2019 annual Fundraising Luncheon, held recently at the Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation. The award was also presented to longtime library advocates Barbara Correll and Ethel Pearl Maloney.
The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County has named Jupiter-based artist Glenda Green, an abstract artist working in acrylics and mixed media, as the recipient of the 2019 Dina Baker Fund for Mature Female Artists. The program grants
$10,000 annually to a female artist age 60 or older with financial need and recognizable merit. The artist may use funds for professional development, arts-related exhibitions, equipment and supplies, healthcare costs or basic living expenses. Each award recipient also receives a oneyear membership at the Cultural Council and solo exhibition in the Council’s Lawrence A. Sanders Foundation Artist Resource Center Gallery. Green’s exhibition will run from Feb. 29 to March 28,
2020, at the Council’s Lake Worth Beach headquarters.

HCA Healthcare announced that Charles Gressle has been named president of HCA Healthcare’s Fort Lauderdalebased East Florida Division, beginning Dec. 1. Gressle, who has been with the organization for 14 years, is currently chief administrative officer for the East Florida Division.
The BocaCare Physician Network, a network of primary care doctors and specialists who provide high-quality medical care to patients of all ages, has added neurologist Svetlana Faktorovich, M.D., to the medical staff of Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
Nicklaus Children’s Health System announces new members of its executive leadership team as well as the promotion of several long-standing organizational leaders. Aren Laljie was named chief operating officer for Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the health system’s physician enterprise. Most recently, Laljie was chief financial officer for Pediatric Associates and Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. Arianna Urquia was named chief financial officer for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Most recently, she was chief financial officer for North Shore Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare. Saima Aftab was promoted to vice president of administration for Pediatric Specialists of America and also serves as PSA section chief of Neonatology and medical director of the Fetal Care Center at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Elizabeth Menocal has been promoted to vice president of clinical affairs for Nicklaus Children’s. Menocal has been with the organization for more than 24 years and has worked as a leader in its medical staff administration and medical education departments. Jefry L. Biehler was promoted to senior medical director of quality and utilization management. Biehler has been a member of the medical staff for more than 25 years.
Marcos Mestre has been promoted to senior medical director of pediatric services for Pediatric Specialists of America. Mestre joined Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in 2005 as a pediatric hospitalist and was most recently president of the medical staff and chairman of the medical executive committee. Chad Perlyn has been promoted to senior medical director of surgical services for Pediatric Specialists of America. Perlyn has been an attending plastic surgeon with the Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Nicklaus Children’s since 2009.
Chamber
Kelly Keys, Broward Health’s manager of emergency preparedness, was recognized for her contributions in health care, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce’s Perspectives on Florida’s Health care and Excellence in Health care Awards. Keys received the chamber’s award for Excellence as First Responder.
Engineering, interior design
Design and engineering firm Stantec announced that Raed Alawadhi has joined the company as senior interior designer, in Miami. Previously, Alawadhi ran his own commercial and residential design firm, R.A.D. He also worked as an interior designer at Luminaire in Miami.
Laureen Edelson is a new Interior Designer at Clive Daniel Home in Boca.

Betensky has been appointed to serve as a Journal Editor of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Litigation’s Business Torts and Unfair Competition Committee, through 2020. Betensky has been a member of the Business Torts and Unfair Competition Committee for 10 years.

Golf
PGA Golf Club, PGA of America’s 54-hole facility, announces its head golf professional, Holly Taylor, has been named the 2019 South Florida PGA section’s “Merchandiser of the Year,” in the resort category. The award program recognizes PGA professionals within the section demonstrating superior skills as a merchandiser in the promotion of golf as well as excellence in golf shop operations. Taylor,
who has been at PGA Golf Club for 11 years, was honored at the South Florida PGA annual Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner recently at the Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens.
Additionally, Mark VanDyck and Stephen Cox, both with PGA, were also inducted to the South Florida PGA Hall of Fame. For over 20 years, VanDyck has served the Section in a leadership role. During his term as SFPGA President from 2009-11, Cox reorganized the South Florida PGA Foundation, helped to find permanent office space for the Section and increased the size of voting membership on the Section Board of Directors.

Starboard Cruise Services, the premier retailer at sea, has appointed Lisa Baldzicki as chief merchandising officer. In the past, Baldzicki worked for The Walt Disney Co. as vice president of merchandise strategy, product development, planning & allocation. Baldzicki also worked for L Brands at Victoria’s Secret and VF Corp.

The designation is the highest honor awarded by Skål International based in Torremolinos, Spain.
