Palm Beach County to get its own Home Show in May
The Home Show is moving to Palm Beach County.
The Home Design and Remodeling Show, which has been hosting events in Broward and Miami-Dade counties for more than four decades, will hold its first expo in West Palm Beach next year while the Broward County Convention Center undergoes a 19-month renovation.
The expos, which showcase thousands of products, home improvement and interior design services, will set up shop May 29-31 in the Palm Beach County Convention Center at 650 Okeechobee Blvd., according to a news release.
Shows also are scheduled on March 27-29 and Sept. 4-7 at the Wynwood Convention Center at 318 NW 23rd St. in Miami. The shows are produced by Coral-Gables based Home Show Man
agement Corp.
“For over 40 years we have been delivering South Florida’s most recognized Home Design and Remodeling Shows to the local market, attracting tens of thousands of event attendees per expo,” said show director Adam Kayce. “Palm Beach County is currently recognized to be one of the fastest growing communities in Florida and we felt that now is the best time for us to expand and introduce our established event.”
Organizers are relocating the show to Palm Beach in order to offer Broward residents a convenient and accessible choice to either go north or south to Miami via Tri-Rail or Brightline, the company said. The Broward Convention Center will not be ready to host events until November 2021, county officials said.
The Home Show also features bathroom and kitchen remodeling products, hurricane shutters and impact windows, flooring, home automation and security, landscaping, furniture and more. Seminars from South Florida pros and home-improvement celebrities also offer homeowners expert advice on redos.
Home shows were held at the Broward Convention Center this year. But now those events, the Fort Lauderdale International Auto Show and other trade and consumer events will be forced to find new digs. The last Fort Lauderdale home show, sponsored by the Sun Sentinel, was held in late November and featured a renovation seminar by home improvement celebrity Carter Oosterhouse of TLC’s “Trading Spaces.”
