BEACH GUIDE 2020

-

200 NE 21st Ave.; 954-480-4413, Deerfield-beach.com

If you’re looking for a popular, family-friendly beach, Deerfield is for you. This hub is always bustling, no matter the day. People of all ages frequent the shore to swim, surf, snorkel and play, while others stroll or exercise on the nearby boardwalk. It’s typically packed with a small crowd around the monitor of Spinner the Sea Camera, the beach’s underwater camera. A big screen, located by the start of the pier, shows a video feed from Spinner. It can be viewed online at the city’s website as well as in-person.

The water is not the only draw, however. Plenty of restaurants line the streets, so visitors can find anything from pizza to lobster to chai tea. But do be prepared for a parking wait or walk. Busy is great, except when it seems there’s no open space in sight.
