Lake Worth Beach, 10 S. Ocean Blvd.; 561-586-1600, lakeworthbeachfl.gov/casino-andbeach-complex

There’s a lot to do at Lake Worth Beach, where visitors can sunbathe in the sand, eat at restaurants facing the water, take a stroll on the boardwalk or fish from a 990-foot-long pier.

The site is home to the city’s historic Casino and Beach Complex, which housed slot machines until the 1930s, when the city outlawed gambling. With its arched entryways and Corinthian columns, the building now hosts a pizzeria, an ice cream shop and a T-shirt store, as well as a municipal pool (currently closed) and a wedding venue on the second floor.

There’s also a pier for fishing and picturetaking, with a popular restaurant, Benny’s on the Beach, at its entry. Pets are welcome, with plastic bags for dog waste placed along the boardwalk. There are large colorful murals at the swimming pool building near the boardwalk, perfect for fun selfies.
