Westfield Broward Mall mask sales to help feed children

- By Brett Shweky

The Westfield Broward Mall in Plantation is raising funds for the No Kid Hungry campaign by selling face masks and no-touch tools.

From now until Aug. 31, the mall will donate $1 to the nonprofit for every notouch tool and mask bundle sold. Each $1 donated can provide up to 10 meals to children in need.

To purchase the items, individuals can visit the kiosk in the mall near Macy’s and Francesca’s. Masks are $3 while the notouch tool is $7. Both can be purchased for $9.

The face masks are reusable and made with two layers of fabric for double the protection. The no-touch tools are keys that allow an individual to safely push or pull on any high-touch area, such as ATMs, elevators and door handles.

Back in March, Westfield Broward launched the Westfield Cares initiative to highlight organizations and charitable acts that have been done during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The No Kid Hungry campaign is run nationally by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit organization working to solve hunger and poverty throughout the world.

Since starting the campaign, Westfield Broward has already dropped off meals at Westside Regional Medical Center, the Plantation fire and police departments as well as donated to the Broward Food Pantry.
