Boca Helping Hands adds pantry bag distribution site
To provide food for underserved families in Palm Beach County during the pandemic, Boca Helping Hands has added a pantry bag distribution site for residents in the Lantana area.
Available each Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., families can access the new distribution site at Advent Lantana, 2116 Lantana Road, in Lake Worth. The nonprofit has the capability to feed 1,500 families at the new site.
“Thanks to Advent Lantana, we have expanded our Pantry Bag program further north, bringing hope to even more families in need,” Boca Helping Hands Executive Director Greg Hazle said in a statement. “This is a service we intend to continue for the long term.”
To receive benefits, individuals or households must qualify under The Emergency Food Assistance Program guidelines. Qualified residents can register for the pantry bag distribution at bocahelpinghands.org/PantryBagProgram.
Bill Harper, Boca Helping Hands’ director of food and warehouse, with Cory Landers and the Rev. Dr. Andrew Hagen hold up food donations at the new Lantana-area food distribution site.
Boca Helping Hands also offers the service at Remillard Family Resource Center, 1500 NW First Court in Boca Raton; First Baptist Church of Boynton Beach, 301 N. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach; and Boca Glades Baptist Church, 1010 Judge
Winikoff Road, west of Boca Raton.
Boca Helping Hands distributes more than 80,000 pantry bags each year at four Palm Beach County locations while also serving over 55,000 hot meals annually.
