Quiet period is not over
Make it three consecutive weekends that the Miami Hurricanes will be without a football game.
This time, it’s due to COVID19 issues for their opponent. The ACC announced Saturday that Miami’s Dec. 5 road game at Wake Forest is being postponed.
“The postponement follows positive tests, subsequent quarantining and contact tracing within the Wake Forest football team,” the ACC press release said. “The team is adhering to the outlined protocols within the ACC Medical Advisory Group report.”
It follows the two-week layoff the Hurricanes have already gone through due to a coronavirus outbreak of their own.
The Hurricanes are set to return to practice Monday and progressively get players back, along with coach Manny Diaz, who was one of the positive
COVID-19 cases for UM. The remainder of Miami’s regular- season schedule involves home games against North Carolina on Dec. 12 and Georgia Tech on Dec. 19, so it doesn’t appear there’s an opening to reschedule the game at Wake.
It is unknown whether the Hurricanes will look to find another opponent to play Saturday.
