Deerfield Beach dominates Jupiter in 8A gold

Marquise Pierre threw four touchdowns, including three in the first quarter, as Deerfield Beach rolled past Jupiter 41-0 on Friday night in its first game of the 8A tri-county playoffs gold bracket.

TheBucks (3-0), whonext travel to face Western, set the tone on the second play of the game as Deion Smalls took a short pass andturned it upfield for an 81-yard score. Pierre then hooked up with Joseph Kennerly fora 23-yard touchdown and

Fred Eaford on a 73-yard strike to give the Bucks a commanding 20-0 lead.

“We wanted to win the toss and come out and be really aggressive early,” said Deerfield Beach coach Jevon Glenn. “Their style of offense wasn’t going to do well playing catch-up, sowe could take them completely out of the game with a fast start.”

The Bucks struck again on their first series in the second half as Pierre found Jamarion McDougle for a

7-yardTD, whileKeysh­awn Jones added a touchdown on a 49-yard run before the starterswe­re pulled. Jupiter

(4-1) couldn’t get anything going on offense, managing just 22 total yards.
