Ernesto (“Ernie”) Sepulveda Rosa died in his sleep on March 27, 2021 in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he had lived for 30 years.

Born June 7, 1954, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ernie was naturally gregarious, friendly and loving. In all stages of his life Ernie was known as a raconteur, and as a loyal and loving friend and colleague.

From an early age he developed a love for travelling, and thrived with the stimulus of new and different places, experiences and cultures, and enjoyed meeting people. This led to his interest in, and broad knowledge of, geography and history, and to his decision to study travel and to work in the travel industry. He travelled to many parts of the world and worked as a customer service professional with travel agencies in San Juan, Puerto Rico and in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ernie was distinguished by his dedication, enthusiasm and hard work in planning and assuring the perfect trip for his clients. Later, Ernie was associated in the management of his sister Nelia’s Airbnb in Fort Lauderdale, and loved to interact with the guests who were from different parts of the United States and the world. The guests were surprised and delighted that Ernie knew the history and customs of their countries as well as of different parts of the United States. He also enjoyed being able to act as concierge providing information as to places to visit in Fort Lauderdale.

For relaxation, Ernie enjoyed and spent many hours reading history or listening to music. He particularly liked to start each New Year reading the most recent edition of the World Almanac.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents Alberto Sepulveda Martinez and Rosa Ines Sepulveda Rosa, and two older brothers, Alberto Sepulveda Giron and Gustavo (Martha) Sepulveda Giron. He is survived by his sisters Nelia Greaves, and Silvia (John) Hambor, nephew John Greaves (Myrtha) and sister-in-law Martha Sepulveda, as well as cousins and friends. Memorial Services are being planned and will be announced at a later date.
