Stan Meadows, hospital executive to Holy Cross Health, joined the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n for the second consecutiv­e year as the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s event chair in Broward County.

Goodwill South Florida appointed Tammy Klein, founder and owner of Klein HR Solutions, to its board of directors.

Ana Argüello, senior regional marketing manager at Publix Super Markets, joined Hispanic Unity of Florida’s board of directors.

The Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County board of directors named Jennifer C. Thomason as president and chief executive officer. She was most recently area director of philanthro­py/gift manager for Trustbridg­e Hospice Foundation.

Finance

Amerant Bank announced that Silvia Larrieu has joined as chief of staff to the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Community Relations & Affinity Partnershi­ps. Silvia most recently was senior Director of developmen­t and partnershi­ps at the Miami Herald.

UBS Private Wealth Management announced that a six-person team has joined the firm in UBS’ South Florida market. The team is led by Financial Advisers Brian Beraha and Vicente del Rio, and also includes Financial Adviser Horacio S. Aguirre; Senior Wealth Strategy Associates Jared Pillar and Alexis Audisio; and Client Service Associate Michelle Gonzalez.

Education

Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Ismare Monreal to the Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees. Monreal, an MDC alumna, is acting vice president and dean of students at Johnson and Wales University.

Early Learning Coalition of Broward County added two new board members: Kirk Englehardt and Kristina West. West is client and community relations assistant director for PNC Bank. Englehardt is vice president of marketing and communicat­ions for the Community Foundation of Broward.

LaKeisha Wells-Palmer was announced as the new Executive Director of Teach For America Miami-Dade. Wells-Palmer follows the departure of Samantha Hoare, who was executive director of Teach For America Miami-Dade for six years. In the past, WellsPalme­r was a teacher, instructio­nal coach, assistant principal, and interim principal, and spent eight years on Teach For America Jacksonvil­le’s team as the managing director of program continuum.

Design

The Design Center of the Americas named Jennifer L. Moran as vice president, leasing. In the past, Moran has had her own Brokerage firm. Most recently she worked for JLL at Galleria Mall.
