- By Angie DiMichele

There’s a thief partial to taking two-wheeled vehicles from people in the North Lauderdale area, and the Broward Sheriff ’s Office is asking for help finding who it is.

Since July 3, people have reported eight mopeds, motorcycles and scooters stolen, according to the Sheriff ’s Office. The culprit’s streak appeared to have started about 4:30 p.m. July 5 when a man said his black and white 2021 Kaitong Motorcycle was taken near the 1400 block of Avon Lane.

Then a week later, a man told deputies his friend’s black and red scooter went missing near the 7600 block of Southwest 10th Court. The bandit got busy between

July 23 and Monday — six more vehicles were taken from the same area.

The suspect’s cover may not last much longer, though. Surveillance video at the last victim’s house caught him or her on camera.

The person was wearing a patterned hoodie, a facemask and light-colored

shorts when seen stealing a 2021 YNGF Forza motor scooter outside of a home in the 7700 block of Southwest

10th Court.

The Sheriff ’s Office asked anyone with information on who the person is or his or her whereabouts to contact North Lauderdale Det. Milton Escobar at 954-7202254.
