Let teachers fight fires too

Has DeSantis completely lost his mind? Putting retired firefighters and EMTs (emergency medical technicians) in the classroom, carte blanche, as certified teachers? They are highly trained — but as firefighters and EMTs.

Why don’t we just tell all of the retired teachers that they can automatically qualify as firefighters and EMTs? Training doesn’t matter.

Get a grip, people. Don’t destroy the school system that educated our children with such professionalism and quality. Training to be a teacher matters. Although I was never a teacher, I certainly have many of them to thank for an educated and successful life.
