Doris Elaine Dewald Marshall died August 9,
2022 after a blessed life of
94 wonderful years. The daughter of Jesse and Pauline Hodges Dewald, Doris grew up on a wheat farm in Ritzville, Washington. She was the valedictorian of her senior class and graduated from Washington State University with degrees in art and education. A talented painter, sculptress and sterling jewelry maker, she loved expressing her phenomenal creativity in many mediums. Doris volunteered at the Boca Raton Museum of Art and was an active member of Grace Community Church, chairing the jewelry committee and visiting as a deacon.
Married 56 years, the love of her life James Stephens Marshall predeceased her in 2007. She was the proud mother of 5 children: Paula Marie Snell (Doug), Rodney John Marshall (Robi Ann), Dianne Kay Hall (Brad), Janna Suzanne Webb (Jake) and Jeffrey Stephens Marshall (Cheri). Doris had 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother John William Dewald and predeceased by her brother, Robert Eugene Dewald, who died during the Korean W a r.
Doris was a dignified and kind woman and the family is grateful to God for her presence in their lives. A memorial service will be held at 4:00, August 22 in the St. Andrews Estates South Chapel. In the spirit of our generous mother please consider making a donation to your favorite charity.
