It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Mitchell Berger, age 78. He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer for 19.5 months. Scott was born August 16, 1943, and died August 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Scott grew up in New York City and went to Brooklyn Tech High School. He then attended college at Delaware Valley University, where he received a BS in Biology. Scott began his career as a High School Science Teacher, and married his beautiful wife, Linda, in 1966. They had two children: Jonathan and Stacy. Always looking to provide more for his family, he opened a men’s clothing boutique on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where his superlative sense of style attracted many famous customers. In 1979, Scott and Linda opted for a change of scenery and moved to Florida. There, he began a thirty-plus year career in management with Orkin Exterminating. He trained and mentored many, many individuals; he truly wanted to help people

become the best version of themselves. He seemed to have a special gift of tapping into the potential people never knew they had and used this to steer them to greater endeavors. He was truly humbled by how appreciative people were once he was able to help them. To that regard, he lived by the motto, “Eye of the Tiger!”

Nevertheless, as significant as it was to Scott to help others, his greatest joys in life came from his family. Nothing was more important to him than the love and accomplishments of his wife, his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren. He cherished the multiple adventures and discoveries that he experienced while traveling with his wife and each of his grandchildren – “trips of a lifetime”, creating memories that will live on in their hearts and minds. His family was his world and his legacy!

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of 56 years; his son Jonathan (Debbie) Berger; his daughter Stacy (Paul) Sygall; his five lovely grandchildren: Joshua, Rachel, Ben, Kyle and Rebecca; and his furry little boy,

Obe, “The O”, his best friend forever.
