Ingold on Gruden

Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold was a member of the Las Vegas Raiders last season when ex-coach Jon Gruden resigned in October due to inflammatory emails.

“Obviously it’s a real tough situation we all had to go through in that locker room,” Ingold said. “You wish that those emails weren’t sent. You wish a guy like that didn’t say it, but he did. He’s owning it, he’s dealing with his consequences.”

Ingold noted Gruden was “the guy that gave me my first shot” and Ingold said had respect for many people in that locker room, and the Gruden situation was “just really unfortunate for that team last year.”

Ingold was then asked whether he was surprised to hear such comments.

“I think it shocked everybody,” he said. “We had a lot to deal with last year. It grew everybody up fast, that’s for sure.”
