Morstead joined Dolphins partly because of Crossen
Punter Thomas Morstead and special teams ace/defensive back Keion Crossen practically came to the Dolphins because of their introduction at a union meeting in the spring by ex-Dolphins defensive back Michael Thomas. OK, that’s a slight exaggeration, but Morstead knew Crossen was with the Dolphins when he signed.
“I’d heard of Keion and I knew he was a damn good special teams player,” Morstead said. “[Thomas] said, ‘He’s a free agent, you guys should sign with the same team because the way you directional punt, and the way he covers punts, you guys can be a great team together, make a good tandem.’
“And so when I came on my visit here, I knew that he signed here and I was like, ‘This is my team.’ Mike T called it.”
