Preparing for service
Shawmut Design and Construction volunteers Francesco Blasi and Toni Barges bring empty boxes and construction debris out of the FLITE Center in West Palm Beach on Friday as they help to ready it for its Oct. 19 grand opening. While the center’s primary focus will be teens and young adults ages 13 to 23 who are survivors of human trafficking, it also will help youth aging out of foster care, those with special and behavioral needs, the LGBTQ+ community, and others who are unemployed, homeless or facing unfortunate circumstances.
