South Florida Sun-Sentinel (Sunday)
Hey, do I know that starting quarterback?
Four NFL quarterbacks who played their high school football in South Florida are scheduled to make starts Sunday, including Dolphins quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who attended Miami Northwestern and is getting his first start with Miami.
The others are Cleveland’s Jacoby Brissett, who attended Dwyer, Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson, who attended Boynton Beach, and Seattle’s Geno Smith, who attended Miramar.
That’s a pretty strong showing. By the way, the other two NFL quarterbacks on 53-man rosters who played high school football in South Florida are Baltimore’s Tyler Huntley, who attended Hallandale, and Mike White of the New York Jets, who attended University School.
And not to be snobbish by drilling down, but five of the six South Florida quarterbacks in the NFL are from Broward and Palm Beach counties.
