THESE ARE NOT YOUR MOTHER’S MALE STRIPPERS

‘Magic Mike Live’ debuts in Miami

- By Rod Stafford Hagwood

In a biz where every bump can be a bit of a grind, “Magic Mike Live: The Tour” is aiming to make the erotic male revue a whole new kind of experience.

Born out of the hunka-hunka-burning-love hit movies starring Channing Tatum — 2012’s “Magic Mike” and 2015’s “Magic Mike XXL” — the show debuted earlier this month in a pop-up venue called The Arcadia, set up at the Miami Marine Stadium on Key Biscayne for a six-month limited run.

That means “Magic Mike Live: The Tour” will likely get a big boost when the next installment, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” hits screens in February. Tatum is a co-director of “Magic Mike Live: The Tour,” along with Alison Faulk, the choreographer of the three movies and a former Pembroke Pines resident.

The 90-minute production is also the centerpiece of the reality competition series “Finding Magic Mike,” streaming on HBO Max.
