No heckling by union leader

-

The Broward Teachers Union supports candidates for office who back public education and teachers. I was invited to attend the Charlie Crist-Ron DeSantis debate, using my own vehicle for the trip, because it was important for public education and teachers to be represented.

It was the only opportunity for us to hear the views of both gubernatorial candidates on issues critical to our future.

Reports on social and traditional media that I heckled DeSantis at the debate are

patently untrue. I was there to hear facts, not interrupt the discourse between the candidates. It is disheartening and sad that some members of the public are spreading falsehoods about what happened that night.

I hope this puts rumors to rest so we can focus on what truly matters: Electing a governor who wants to build up, not dismantle, public education in Florida. Anna Fusco, Tamarac
