Dinosaurs roam Cox Science Center
Now through April 30, 2023, take a trip back in time — way back in time — for the Dinosaur Explorer exhibit at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach.
Guests can explore the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods with a display of animatronic dinosaurs.
“We are thrilled to be opening an exhibit dominated by dinosaurs,” Kate Arrizza, the center’s president and CEO said in a statement. “It’s not just a spectacle into prehistoric predecessors, but a demonstration of how our behaviors overlap with theirs — even from so long ago. Visitors will be amazed at the human connection to some of these giants on display as well as fascinating fossilized casts, hands-on activities and more.”
The Dinosaur Explorer exhibit is included in general admission, which is $20.95 for adults, $16.95 for children ages 3 to 12 and $18.95 for seniors (60 and up).
Cox Science Center and Aquarium, formerly the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, offers an indoor/outdoor venue featuring over 100 hands-on educational exhibits, a 10,000-gallon fresh and saltwater aquarium, digital planetarium, pre-K focused Discovery Center, 18-hole conservation-themed minigolf course and quarter milelong outdoor science trail as well as Journey Through the Human Brain, a permanent exhibit that features the most advanced neuroscience research in the world.
The Cox Amphitheater also has daily live science shows, seasonal laser shows and special event programming.
The center took on a new name honoring a $20 million gift from Palm Beachers Howard and Wendy Cox, launching a capital campaign to expand with a target completion date of 2025.
The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is at 4801 Dreher Trail N, West Palm Beach.
