Patricia Mittasch

Patricia “Pat” Mittasch, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Elizabeth City, NC.

Pat was born on January 28, 1941, in Providence, RI to Edith and Harvey Holman. They moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1953. Pat married her first love, John Hewett in 1956 and started a family. Pat found love again and married Joseph Mittasch in 1968 and added their daughter to the blended family.

Beloved mother of her late son, Roger Hewett; Daughters, Peggy Van Dorp, Shelly Baggs, Denise Sanchez & son-in-law, Raul Sanchez; stepmother to Madalane Garofalo, Georgette Mittasch and departed Cindy Angove. Her greatest joy were her granddaughters; Charlie Henry, Autumn Baggs and Cristina Sanchez. She was lovingly “Grandma and Gammy” to her step-grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her sister, Mary Swerens and her nephews.

At Pat’s expressed wishes, there will be no service and her ashes will be returned to her childhood home in a private ceremony.
